All authors presenting papers
during the regular session are
also expected to also present
your work at the poster session

The Poster/Demo Session and conference
reception starts at 6:30 pm on
Thursday, May 19. Note there will
be plenty of food and beverages
available!
-
The room will be available for
set up no later than 6:00 pm;
earlier if we can manage the timing.
-
Poster presenters will be given
the following:
-
One side of a 4-foot tall
by 8-foot wide display board.
The board is on legs, and
the display board itself begins
at about table height.
-
Lots of push pins
- One
table, about 18 inches wide
by 60-72 inches long for handouts,
reprints, business cards,
etc.
-
Electrical hookup (in case
you want to run a laptop)

Instructions For Submitting Camera
Ready Copy
The
symposium proceedings will be published
by Springer-Verlag in the Lecture
Notes in Computer Science (LNCS)
series. In addition to a formal
paper presentation, authors of accepted
papers are encouraged to discuss
their findings in a separate poster/demo
session, which will also serve as
the conference reception.
Authors
of selected papers may be invited
to submit an extended version of
their work to one or more journals
that will publish special issues
on Intelligence & Security Informatics.
- Authors
please note: All authors
are expected to strictly follow
the paper length requirements
and the LNCS
proceedings format guidelines
to ensure a high-quality and consistent
print. General instructions for
formatting can be found below.
If you are unfamiliar with the
use of templates, you are strongly
encouraged to read the more detailed
instructions found in the word.zip
files or the llncs2e.zip files.

The template and style
files should not be manipulated
and the guidelines regarding
font sizes and format must
be adhered to. Please
use Springer's Word template or
LaTeX macro or we will NOT be
able to accept your final submission.

Paper length requirements
- Long
papers may not exceed 12 pages
(including abstract and
appendices)
-
Short papers may not exceed 6
pages (including abstract)
-
Extended abstracts may not exceed
2 pages. Extended abstracts should
not contain a separate abstract
section.
Downloading
and saving the templates
LNCS
MS Word Templates or Latex2e Macros
can be downloaded easily from this
website:
Setting Up the Word Template
- Before
you start work, open a new or
an existing Word document and
choose the menu point Templates
and Add-ins ind the Tools menu
(Word 97 and 2000) or the menu
point Templates in the File menu
(Word 95). Click on "Attach"
in the dialog box, choose SV-lncs.dot,
and click on "Update Styles"
and then OK.
Macrovirus
Protection: If the macrovirus
protection is activated on your
PC, a warn-ing will appear to
tell you that the template contains
macros. We have checked the template
for viruses and assure you that
it does not contain any viruses
we are familiar with and that
you can use the macros.

If you forgot to click on "Update
Styles" when attaching the
template, you can use Activate
Formats to activate the set formats.
You will first be asked whether
the tem-plate has been saved under
MSOffice\Templates. If you saved
the template in a different directory,
click on "No" and type
in the correct path in the box.
-
The entry Change Margins changes
the typing area to the correct
typing area of 122 mm ×
193 mm for the LNCS volumes. It
must be used before you start
work with the template.
-
The special toolbars
consist of buttons for the available
style elements in the template.
To use one of these styles, simply
click on the relevant toolbar
button either before or after
entering text. The style will
then be assigned to the paragraph
that currently has the cursor
in it.

special toolbars, please read
the detailed
instructions. Commonly used
toolbars include:
- Headings:
Four levels of headings are
permitted
- Body
text: Use “non-indented”
text for the first paragraph
after a heading: on RETURN,
a standard indented paragraph
will follow. Use “indented”
for Use for standard paragraphs
of running text for which
the first line should be indented.
On RETURN, a standard indented
paragraph will follow.
- Equation:
Use for any displayed equations
- Reference:
Use for each entry in the
reference list. For numbered
reference lists, insert the
numbers as normal text and
do not use the Winword list
function. On RETURN, the style
Reference will be repeated.
After the last entry, click
on another button to continue
with the chapter.
- Footnote:
for a footnote in the text.
After you have entered the
footnote, press Shift + F5
to return to the last position
in the text.
- Table
Caption and Figure
Caption: Use these
for creating the captions
for Tables and Figures. These
macros will automatically
format your captions to display
correctly.

List items may be Dot
items, Dash
items, or Num
items.
- Special
Characters. To insert
special characters, use the
standard Word character table
(under the menu point Insert/Special
Characters). Please note that
special characters should
always be used for inverted
commas (i.e., “ and
”); these can be accessed
via the special character
table or - for those running
Word in English - via Ex-tras/Options/AutoFormat,
where the option for typographic
characters can be chosen.
